Today we went to Santa Claus village which was my treat, or at least half of it, as it didn't use up all of my budget. The first thing we did when we got there was find the line marking the edge of the Arctic circle. We were going to cross into the Arctic circle but then we realised we were on the wrong side of the line. We were already in the Arctic circle. The next thing we did was meet Santa Claus and get our photo taken. My mum actually decided to buy the photo, even though it was €40. Once we had done that, we went into the gift shop. I didn't buy anything because everything was so expensive. Some things that I considered buying were a fluffy husky teddy(€28), some cool fridge magnets(€7), some playing cards(€6) and an Arctic circle coin(€5). My mum was the only person who bought anything.
After we had finished in the gift shop, we went to the post office and I saw a 3D postcard but my mum said we could come back for it later. By then it was nearly time to go and see huskies as the husky park opened at 11am and closed at 1pm and we wanted as much time as possible there. The huskies were adorable and me and Jowan loved them. It cost us €20 altogether. I tried to take some selfies with them but the dogs didn't seem to want to pose.
Eventually, we had to leave so we could have lunch. I had an overpriced chicken burger and chips (it was €12). Then it was time to go and see reindeer. This cost slightly more than the huskies as it was €5 each but you actually got to go inside the enclosure with the reindeer. You also got to feed the reindeer and you could stroke them as they were very friendly and were used to it. The enclosure wasn't very big but the lady looking after the reindeer said that they get to go home with her in the evening and they have a lot more space there.
By the time we had finished petting reindeer, it was nearly time to go back to the accommodation so that my mum could do work and we could do school (we didn't have to do as much school as my mum said we had learnt quite a lot at Santa Claus village) and we just had to go to the post office so that I could buy my postcard and we went to a shop to buy some reindeer and moose meat before heading back.
