Today was my mum's birthday so we were doing her favourite thing. Unnecessary walking for as long as possible to see things that aren't worth the walk. In the morning we went into my parent's bedroom so my mum could open her birthday presents. From Felix she got £10 towards a new camera, from Jowan she got a box of chocolates which she only actually got later in the day because Jowan hadn't had a chance to buy it before and from me she got a blue owl notebook and an erasable dog gel pen.
We then walked to a place with some really cool fountains that kept turning on and off in different places and they formed the outside of a large square which you could stand in. After that we walked to a cafe for lunch.
I was really lucky today because it was my washing up day and we ate out for lunch and tea. Anyway the place we went to had Panini sandwiches but all of them had some kind of cheese in them and I did try asking them for one without cheese but they just said that they were ready made and they can't really modify them. In the end I just ordered a croissant with butter and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate came with whipped cream and was extremely delicious. The croissant was also really good. I tried cutting it in half and buttering it but it was too hot to hold and I ended up just making a dent in the side. I put butter in the gap and held it so that the butter was on the top and it melted through the croissant.
Once we had eaten we wandered around the city a bit more and we went to the Budapest eye which is a Ferris wheel (like the London eye but not as big and not nearly as expensive) and I went on it with my dad. At the top you were higher than the buildings and you got brilliant views. It was 1500 ft (forints) for me and 2700 ft for my dad (about £5 for me and £9 for my dad).I would like to go on it again but I don't think I'll be able to anytime soon.
After the ride we headed towards the restaurant we had decided to go to. Halfway there I started needing the toilet and by the time we got there I was desperate. Once we were there, my mum spotted a restaurant next door and she wasn't sure which of the two she wanted to go to. I'm glad she chose the one that she did because it was very good. When we got there I went straight to the toilet and I took a while so by the time I got back everyone had already ordered drinks and food and the drinks had come. My mum said she considered ordering for me but she wanted to check with me first. She ordered me a lemonade, chicken and chips with Nutella pancakes. We ate our food (which was amazing) and then we went to a supermarket to buy some stuff before going back to the accommodation.
