Shoreham by Sea

Day out in Brighton and Shoreham

After a work trip to Leeds, I met James and the kids in Shoreham-by-Sea, travelling down from London where I caught up with Jo, who was sadly unwell (no bottomless brunch as we'd planned!)

I got the train to Eastbourne, where we'd originally planned to stay overnight before the ferry, then decided to get a (very slow but scenic) bus to Brighton. A quick stop for some M&S sushi on the seafront, then another bus to Shoreham-on-Sea.

Because it was still early I decided to attempt the 3 mile walk to the Youth Hostel, which mostly followed the South Downs Way. It was beautiful but maybe a little eerie in the evening as it was totally deserted - I didn't see anyone until just before I got to the Youth Hostel.

Nice place to stay, and James and the kids rocked up about 20 minutes after I arrived, very pleased to see them after nearly a week away!
